Shop Now For Best Toledo Plans

Shop Toledo electric plans now to lock in a low rate for the next 12 months. Avoid paying that high Toledo Edison PTC rate and save!
Shop the best 12 month electric plans that beat the Toledo Edison PTC price hike! Lock in a low price and save money on cheap Ohio energy all year long!

Summertime is when most homes see some of their biggest Ohio energy bills of the year. Especially when you think about cooling costs and extra energy used for your family's home devices. But Toledo Edison customers are going to see their bills rise even higher, when the PTC rate jumps on June 1. That's why now's the time to shop and lock in savings before you break the bank. But we got you covered with five of the cheapest 12 month plans in Toledo.

Toledo Edison PTC Rate Hike

On June 1, the Toledo Edison PTC rate is going up to 9.52 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh). In other words, you would be paying over $95 in supply charges for 1000 kWh. This is a considerable jump from the current rate of 7.38 cents per kWh (or nearly $74 a month).

As you can guess, this could be a problem, especially if you're staying home for the summer. NOAA predicts Ohio will have a hot, humid summer this year. In other words, more homes will crank up their ACs earlier and longer and that will eat up your energy budget.

Cheapest No ETF Toledo Plans

However, Toledo Edison customers may be able to lock in some great savings not just in time for the summer but for the whole year. Check out these plans that offer the best rates in your area.

For example, locking in the Public Power Electric 12 Month Rate with MRC means paying a supply charge of only $69 per month for 1000 kWh of power ($26 less than June's PTC).

On the other hand, the Energy Harbor Safe Harbor Value 12 plan brings carbon-free energy into your home for 8.89 cents per kWh. This adds up to about $89 in supply charges if you use 1000 kWh of energy. Energy Harbor earned a silver award from our reader's rave reviews of their customer service and plans.

Both of these plans don't charge early termination fees. This makes them great options if your living situation unexpectedly changes during the year and you need to cancel.

Duke Energy Hikes Your Price to Compare Rate June 1

Duke Energy Rate Hike This Summer

Duke Energy's price to compare jumps this June 1 by 30%! Learn what that means for Cincinnati electric bills!
Cincinnati electric bills could jump as much as 30% on June 1 when new rates hit Duke Energy's Price to Compare. Learn how much more you could pay if you don't shop plans now!

It's no secret that keeping cool and comfy can eat up our summer budget. But on June 1, Duke Energy is raising its Price to Compare rate. So, default service customers in the Cincinnati area will pay more to power their homes and business. So, let's see just how much more it may cost and how to avoid paying higher electricity rates.

Price To Compare Rate Hike

On May 1, Duke Energy revealed its standard offer service rate will rise to 10.445 cents per kWh on June 1, 2025. This rate hike is a steep one; 30% hike from the current 8.0174 cents per kWh. The rate is set to last through May 31, 2026.

With an average Ohio home using about 811 kWh of energy per month, the old PTC rate would mean a supply charge of about $65. But under the new rate, the supply charge surges to almost $85; about $20 more.

Likewise, the small commercial rate is rising by 22%. The rate goes from 8.9594 cents per kWh to 10.9549 cents per kWh. According to our estimates, small businesses could see supply charges for their first 2800 kWh of usage jump from about $250 to over $305.

Save With Fixed Electric Rates

As you can guess, this rate hike is a lot to deal with. However, there's still time to shop plans with the best electric supplier and lock in a fixed rate with before summer prices take off. Start now by shopping 3rd party plans that offer better than Price to Compare (PTC) electricity rates.

For example, the Public Power Electric 12 Month Fixed Rate With MRC plan charges 8.09 cents per kWh. This rate means paying about $65 on your supply charge for 811 kWh of power ($20 less than the June PTC). Best of all, Public Power doesn't charge an early termination fee. This makes it a great option if you plan to move later this year.

On the other hand, you can support green energy with the Major Energy Secure Green Choice 12 plan. This plan would charge you 9.19 cents per kWh, which means an average monthly supply charge of about $74 ($11 less than the June PTC). On top of that, you can find further savings with shopping and dining discounts from the Major Energy Rewards program.

But, with a hot summer on the way these rates won't last long! So, shop these deals plus others right now at https://www.ohenergyratings.com. You can also count on us for news and tips that could affect your electricity bills.
