Awful customer service via phone
“ I called to discuss our business rates for 2025/26. I was kept on hold for 30 minutes with no one picking up the phone. How do you run a multi billion dollar business with this level of service? Truly beyond my comprehension on how stupid companies in America have become over short staffing their phones. ”

Web site needs work, a bunch of work
“ I have yet to be able to contact any one to set up direct billing - too many gate keepers, too long on hold, most of the help is very difficult to understand. And the web site is of no help. Have had to pay my bill as a guest. Oh, and I've had two bills so far: one for a partial month of customer service fee one for some bogus "new service fee" that I was not told about. I have yet to pay for any gas usage. ”

knowledge team needed
“ I have contacted Dynegy several times as we are switching from Duke to Dynegy. I have never been able to complete any call, as the agent is not sure of an answer, or you can tell they are guessing. Today I called and asked how the billing would occur once we switch, they said to call Duke, they did not know process how I would be billed from Dynegy. I also called about solar panels in the past, they were not sure how S-Rec credits would work . Need knowledgeable person to help. ”

New online login is the very worst
“ Trying to login to the new online bill pay is utterly and absolutely frustrating. Extremely difficult to do, not set up to be user friendly, double verification login requires a call or something, they must be messaging a landline, because there was no call, could not log in. Wasted 10 or 15 minutes trying to pay my bill, then tried to call customer service for several minutes, estimated wait time was 40 minutes. If I did my job that way, I wouldn't have one. Absolutely the worst system, don't get me started on electric pricing. You could at least give good customer service and easy bill pay. Almost like it is purposely set up to drive people Stark raving mad. Zero Stars ”

Look good on paper, nothing to back it up
“ Easy order using the online click through in Apples to Apples (nat gas table). All went well, two days later I get an acceptance letter. Next day after that I get an oops letter saying that they can't accept me because I have account arrears. Turns out they can't read. I had a credit on my account. They then tried to sign me up over the phone...followed up by sending me to an authorization AI program that wasn't fully baked and after three attempt I gave up on this outfit and moved on to another supplier. I still get phone calls from people who have something other than English as their first language and even my AI translator in voice mail can't translate. Half baked company without anything other than a low price to get your attention and then everything in the relationship gets broken. Pay a couple of pennies per therm more and have peace of mind. ”

Dishonest
“ I was contacted about switching to their .049 rates and that it would be variable and I would be informed every month what the new rate would be so I could cancel or continue. After my first initial bill I received one letter saying that the rate would be 8.9. I just received my latest bill and my current rate is $.14 per kilowatt, which is outrageous. I was never told it was going to be that high. When I signed up, the spokespersons said I would be informed. When I called them, I was just told that they dont inform people. All they did was send me a letter saying that my current rate was going to expire and that there was nothing to be done. Do not give them business as they are extremely dishonest about their rates. ”
